On Friday the 17th, I launched a new website / webapp called Domain Watcher.
It's a small lightweight app that does a DNS record check on any URL you put in the field. It also remembers URLs from previous visits on the same device!
Be sure to check it out if there's a URL you're looking to buy in the future.
Let's make 2020 a BANGER; practice self care, tell that person you like them and do that project you've been putting off.
I've made some changes to the contact form again. Recently I switched things so that Office 365 hosts my email, and that made the contact form deliver email under an odd address. So with some hard work I've managed to now have the site send emails as an actual email on the domain!
Recently I made a few changes to the site, I'll go over them all here, there aren't as many as the last time so no video.
-Changed Banner (thank you to my buddy Tablez for that.
-Added some animations to the site (mostly subtle stuff to make it more interesting)
-Added a subscribe button to my YouTube page.
-Added content to the Coding page.
-Added a contact form to the site (clicking 'contact' at the bottom of any page will now take you to a separate contact form hosted by the site)
That should be everything, be sure to browse around and see for yourself the new stuff :) I hope you enjoy!
It took the better part of today, but you can now sort blog entries by Month day and year. This is the first step into making the blog more refined. The next big step is to make it so each post can generate its own page but I think that\'s a bit far down the road, we shall see! :)
Behind the Scenes I've been doing MASSIVE overhauls to the site, not so much in how it looks but more so in how things function. There will be some style / look changes , but they might go mostly unnoticed. I want to role them all out at once probably around September 1st. In addition, I'll also be releasing the First "web project" alongside this update, and hopefully have an actual website banner that isn't ripped from wordpress :P. The last big thing I wanna mention is that I've also been using my free time to work on a couple other websites. One for my Podcast CastNChill, and another a portfolio site for one of my friends who is doing graphic design. I don't wanna show any previews until URLs are bought and hosting is figured out, but I'm excited to release them both! The podcast site will actually launch fairly soon, I'm hoping for mid September. Lots of stuff to look forward to :).
Presently I’m on vacation and this is the first time in a long time that I’ve been this excited to be here, it hasn’t been perfect sure but I’m having fun :)
As of August 9th, I will be finishing my first internship which I was fortunate enough to get fresh out of college. I worked as a web developer at CommSoft and was working on a Queue Management System to be used by Telecom Companies at storefronts. We built it in PHP, EXT JS (Sencha), and SQL, all of which were new to me, but now I feel like I have a much more tight grasp on them. I learned so much and had a great time working there, if they were ever to ask me to come back full time I would in a heartbeat :).
So while updating the site to bootstrap 4.3, I accidentally over scrolled on the documentation page and noticed a responsive scale tag. I added it to all of my pages and now low and behold samtheq.com will now properly scale on mobile devices! This in general will be great for accessibility and I’m so happy that I’ve been diving back into development:))
Hey all, did you know that I have a podcast?? Probably not, but now you do! You can check it out on YouTube, we don't have a custom URL for the channel so just look up "Cast'N'Chill" and the profile picture is the big N! We upload every Saturday so be sure to tune in this week for the new episode which was actually JUST recorded. This link here should work: Podcast Channel
It looks like I did it, I managed to make a seamless blog that I can maintain with PHP, it took a lot less time then I thought it would and I am incredibly happy. I'm going to flesh this out more as I delve deeper into PHP :)...
